Luxury getaways in Southeast Asia typically feature verdant landscapes that open onto white-sand beaches and azure waters. For those wanting a full escape, these locations might require some grit and patience, with multiple connecting flights and long drives.

After all, it’s a known saying among travellers that the harder it is to get there, the more beautiful it’ll be.

Thankfully, these resorts have their own private helipads, making the journey much shorter and sweeter, with gorgeous views along the way.

Malaysia

Pangkor Laut Resort

Located on a completely private island off Malaysia’s west coast. This world-class, 5-star sanctuary features an active onsite helipad reserved for elite, extra-exclusive arrivals.

Guests can completely bypass the standard three-hour overland drive from Kuala Lumpur and subsequent speedboat transfers, landing directly amidst the resort’s ancient rainforest canopy and signature overwater sea villas.

Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast

Formerly The Sirēya, the new Mandarin Oriental Desaru Coast is inspired by a traditional Malay village, with 44 suites and one four-bedroom villa.

Situated along the southeastern coastline of Johor, it utilises an active on-site helipad to link VVIP flight paths directly to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, reducing international transit times to short 15- to 20-minute hops.

Indonesia

Raffles Bali

Situated along the exclusive Jimbaran beachfront, this resort features a dedicated Raffles Bali Heliport launched in 2025 that lets guests arrive directly onto its 23ha coastal grounds. The property prioritises extreme privacy, with its limited number of keys and sprawling cliff-side villas.

Private aerial day trips to Nusa Penida and bespoke volcanic tours can also be arranged via its signature Raffles Butler service.

Viceroy Bali

Arguably the best-known hotel helipad in Southeast Asia, it is the only luxury hotel in Ubud with a private helipad. Guests can bypass a 90-minute or more car ride from Ngurah Rai International Airport with a 12-minute helicopter ride directly to the property.

The Bali aerial approach is particularly famous because the helicopter route flies over rice terraces, ravines, and volcanic terrain before landing directly at the resort.

Bvlgari Resort Bali

Perched on a 150-metre-high cliff edge in Uluwatu, this ultra-luxury resort features a private helipad that accommodates direct helicopter transfers.

Guests fly directly from Bali’s international airport or neighbouring islands like Lombok, completely bypassing local traffic. The resort blends high-end Italian design with traditional Balinese architecture. Details are available through Bulgari Hotels.

Soori Bali

A striking, sustainable beachfront resort tucked between volcanic black sands and emerald rice fields on Bali’s southwestern coast, Soori Bali features 10 minimalist villas with private pools and direct fly-in access via its expansive manicured lawns.

A helicopter transfer cuts the two-hour drive to 15 minutes.

The Lombok Lodge

A dedicated concrete pad positioned right on the coastal water’s edge at Medana Bay, the helipad at The Lombok Lodge serves both the Boutique Hotel and the Private Villa Estate.

It functions as the primary hub for the resort’s signature 15-minute inter-island shuttle, flying guests directly across the Lombok Strait from Bali’s luxury helipads to avoid commercial ferry transfers.

Thailand

The Peninsula Bangkok

The only hotel in Bangkok with its own helipad is perched on the 38th floor (114m above ground). The circular landing pad provides direct aerial access to bypass Bangkok’s notorious ground traffic and offers panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok skyline.

Flights between Bangkok’s airports and the rooftop take approximately 25 to 35 minutes. Custom sightseeing tours and romantic excursion flights are also arranged on demand.

Anantara Layan Phuket Resort

Directly connected to the same helicopter infrastructure as Layan Residences and Avadina Hills, making it one of the few mainstream luxury resorts in Southeast Asia where helicopter arrivals are actively marketed and operational.

Sri Panwa Phuket Luxury Pool Villa Hotel

Known for celebrity and billionaire guests arriving by helicopter directly onto the peninsula estate. The property has long been associated with VIP aviation access due to its secluded cape location and private-villa setup.

Cambodia

Shinta Mani Wild

One of the most cinematic helicopter arrivals in Asia: guests can charter helicopters directly into the jungle conservation camp. The remote rainforest setting makes helicopter access part of the core experience rather than an add-on.

Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, this luxury tented camp is set within the Southern Cardamom National Park. The estate features a secluded private jungle helipad cleared into the canopy.

Guests fly over the wilderness from Phnom Penh, land on-site, and are transported via a vintage military jeep directly to the camp’s signature arrival zip-line tower.

Song Saa Private Island

This intimate, eco-luxury sanctuary spans two pristine islands in the Koh Rong Archipelago. It maintains an on-site private resort helipad. This feature lets elite travellers organise custom coastal fly-in charters from major cities to land directly within the resort’s marine reserve boundary.

Philippines

Amanpulo

Located on the entirely private Pamalican Island, Amanpulo operates its own private airstrip and concrete helipad infrastructure. Guests bypass public flight terminals completely, taking private twin-engine or helicopter charters directly to the island’s shores to check into private beach casitas.

Nay Palad Hideaway

Tucked between ancient mangrove forests and the Pacific Ocean on Siargao Island. This all-inclusive boutique luxury resort features a designated on-site helipad.

It handles flight paths directly from regional international hubs like Cebu or Manila, bypassing standard airport transfers.

Manami Resort

On the southwest coastline of Bacolod Island in the Negros Occidental, this 18-villa resort in Sipalay is the first and only luxury nature resort with its own small beachfront. Here, isolation is part of the draw, as car rides from the nearest cities, Bacolod or Dumaguete, take up to four hours over bumpy roads.

The property’s helipad, located at the top of the hill, offers a quicker way to reach the property from Manila, just a two-hour flight away.

Shangri-La Boracay

Positioned inside a secluded eco-reserve cove on the northern tip of Boracay Island. The resort boasts a private hillside helipad.

This allows VIP guests to fly directly from Manila or neighbouring islands, landing directly within the property gates to avoid public ferry transfers.
