Singapore has strengthened its presence on La Liste, an annual restaurant ranking of the top 1,000 restaurants around the world by the French restaurant ranking company. The ninth edition of the list, which started in 2015, includes 14 restaurants from Singapore — two more than last year.
Contemporary French restaurant Odette is the top-rated restaurant from the Republic with a score of 98 (out of 1,00). This is followed by Les Amis and Restaurant Zen (both at 97.5), Saint Pierre (94.5), Burnt Ends (94) and Jaan by Kirk Westaway (92).
Contemporary Korean restaurant Meta, which was promoted to a two-Michelin-starred rating in June, received 83 points. Two Marina Bay Sands dining stalwarts also made it to the list: Waku Ghin (90) and Cut by Wolfgang Puck (80.5).
Szechwan-chuka restaurant Shisen Hanten, which will reopen in Hilton Singapore Orchard in mid-December after an extensive five-month renovation, received 77 points, while contemporary restaurant Cloudstreet by chef Rishi Naleedra, which recently turned five this year, scored 75.5 points. Other restaurants from Singapore on the list are Iggy’s (80), Shoukouwa (78) and Thevar (75.5).

The top nine restaurants on the La Liste 2025 selection each received the almost perfect 99.5 score. They are Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl – Grand Hôtel Les Trois Rois in Switzerland, Guy Savoy in France and Lenclume by Simon Rogan in the UK.
Cantonese restaurant Lung King Heen in Hong Kong and Matsukawa in Tokyo are the only two restaurants from Asia among the top nine. Asian restaurants from Thailand, South Korea and Bali also made the cut in the global list.
Unlike most restaurant rankings, which are based on votes or inspectors’ reviews, La Liste compiles and aggregates opinions and reviews of restaurants from a wide variety of sources.
The French ranking company’s database comprises over 1,000 sources. They include international guide books, other restaurant rankings (including the Michelin Guide and 50 Best rankings) and press articles and reviews from established publications, YouTube channels, blogs and customer review sites such as Google Reviews and Yelp.
According to La Liste, the meta-classification method, which is adopted in the entertainment and sports industries, is employed in its ranking system. It aggregates a large volume and variety of sources in its database before calculating an average score based on a weighted average out of 100 for each restaurant.
In a previous interview with The Peak, Hélène Pietrini, Managing Director of La Liste, says: “Think of us as a plane tasked with mapping the globe’s gastronomic terrain. We have not dispatched inspectors or created another voting method.”

La Liste also doles out 12 special awards to chefs and restaurants that have made waves in the past year. Farm-to-table restaurant Air by chefs Matt Orlando & William Goldfarb, which opened in January, received the Opening of the Year award. The accolade was shared by contemporary French restaurant Black Swan in Beijing by chef Vianney Massot, who used to run his eponymous restaurant in Singapore, among others.
Renowned French chef Gorges Blanc received the Award of Honour, which recognises the lifetime achievement and legacy of a chef. Other recipients from Asia are Aditi Dugar, owner of Masque in Mumbai, who received the Innovation Award, while chef Santiago Fernandez of Maz in Tokyo received the Talent of the Year award.
