Presented in an understated yet elegant box of four, the Black Pearl’s baked mooncakes centre on tea-inspired flavours, with one standout flavour. The Brown Sugar Red Dates Ginger Tea Longan Paste mooncake layers caramel flavours from brown sugar, with the earthy sweetness of red dates, the gentle spice of ginger, and the rounded fruitiness of longan. It’s a familiar flavour that is reminiscent of the herbal teas that one’s elder may have given them, providing a nostalgic and reassuring flavour.

Other flavours include the Rose Lychee Tea, which keeps its strong floral element in check; and the White Peach Longjing Tea, providing a mellow sweetness with peach and longan flavours. Rounding out the box is the Yuzu with Single Yolk mooncake, providing a more savoury, tangy alternative to the delicate tea flavours.

The Roasted Pistachio Mochi mooncake features roasted pistachio paste and chopped roasted pistachios for a rich, nutty flavour, with lotus paste to balance the strong flavours.

On the other hand, the Roasted Brown Rice Michi Chocolate mooncake leans into its rich flavours. With a toasty savoury flavour from its genmai (roasted brown rice) paste, the mooncake also contains lotus paste and chocolate truffle for a sweet bolster to its flavours.

In addition to these new snow skin flavours, Crystal Jade also has a Teochew-style Flaky Black Gold Lava Mooncake, with a salted egg yolk lava center. These pastries look more akin to a bun than a mooncake, but promise a rich flavour for a more adventurous consumer.

For Mid-Autumn this year, the Michelin starred Shisen Hanten leans into its heritage with a collection that feels both thoughtful and personal.

The Assorted Nuts with Jamon Iberico is the most unconventional of the line-up, pairing cured ham with a mix of nuts for a salty-sweet, crunchy twist on the traditional mixed-nut mooncake. For others who want to try new flavours, the Szechwan Harmony Mooncake is a more subtle option — a low-sugar baked mooncake infused with the restaurant’s own tea blend of pu’er, roasted oolong, and chrysanthemum. Folded into lotus paste, the tea brings earthy, toasty, and floral notes that unfold gradually with each bite.

A set of four mooncakes are presented in a woven rattan handbag with a removable drawstring pouch, offering a reusable, stylish accessory along with Mid-autumn treats.

17. The Signature Carry with JW Marriott Singapore South Beach

The Signature Carry in sage, presented alongside the snowskin mooncake collection

JW Marriott Singapore South Beach presents mooncakes in The Signature Carry, a sleek bag in sage or sand. Guests can choose between four baked mooncakes, eight mini snow skin mooncakes, or both.

The baked options stick to beloved classics, but the snow skin set, crafted by Cantonese restaurant Madame Fan, pushes into trend-driven territory. For example, the Nanyang Coffee Caramelised Banana Biscoff features roasted coffee, banana, and spice to highlight our regional favourite kopi, while the Black Sesame Pistachio Kunafa Truffle directly references the popular Kunafe trend.

Fruit-forward flavours round out the set: the Osmanthus Honey Passion Fruit and Mango is bright and tropical, while the Mulberry Muscat Sencha Green Tea balances juicy sweetness with grassy green tea. And of course, for purists, there’s also a Mao Shan Wang Durian Snow Skin Mooncake.
