Every Mid-Autumn Festival brings with it a fresh crop of mooncakes, but the most memorable collections are often those that build thoughtfully on tradition rather than reinventing it altogether.
This year, Pan Pacific Singapore’s Hai Tien Lo does exactly that, pairing time-honoured favourites with nuanced new flavours and gift-ready presentation.
Curated by Executive Chinese Chef Edden Yap and his culinary team, the award-winning Cantonese restaurant’s 2026 collection comprises handcrafted baked and snow skin mooncakes, with a particular emphasis on delicate floral notes and tea-forward profiles.
Leading the collection is the signature Hai Tien Lo No 1 Tea Baked Mooncake. Rather than relying on overt sweetness, the mooncake showcases the fragrance of Hai Tien Lo’s proprietary tea blend, complemented by herbs that lend subtle complexity and a lingering finish. The result is a mooncake that feels measured and refined, making it an appealing choice for tea lovers and those who gravitate towards lighter, more aromatic flavours.
The No 1 Tea Baked Mooncake combines Hai Tien Lo’s proprietary tea blend with aromatic herbs, creating a fragrant, delicately layered flavour profile.
Joining the line-up is this year’s new Roselle with Wolfberries and White Lotus Paste Baked Mooncake, which offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic baked mooncake. Roselle lends a gentle tartness that offsets the richness of the white lotus paste, while wolfberries add a layer of natural sweetness. Together, the ingredients create a balanced profile with delicate floral and fruity notes.
For purists, the restaurant continues to offer its traditional White Lotus Paste mooncakes in both single and double yolk varieties. Featuring silky white lotus paste paired with rich salted egg yolk, these classics remain a dependable choice for those who prefer familiar flavours.
Filled with premium Mao Shan Wang durian, this snow skin mooncake delivers a rich, creamy centre beneath its delicate, chewy exterior.
Fans of snow skin mooncakes, meanwhile, can look forward to the return of the Mao Shan Wang Durian Snow Skin Mooncake. Filled with the prized King of Fruits, the mooncake delivers the cultivar’s signature creaminess beneath a soft, chewy snow skin.
Elevate your Mid-Autumn gifting with elegant mooncake gift sets
Presentation has also been given careful consideration this Mid-Autumn season. The standard four-piece mooncake collection is housed in a vibrant orange keepsake box adorned with floral motifs, designed to be repurposed as a jewellery box long after the festivities are over.
From the floral keepsake box to the premium two-tier gift set (right), the collection is thoughtfully curated for festive gifting.
Those looking for a more substantial gift can opt for the Premium Four Treasures Baked Mooncake Set, which arrives in a two-tier presentation box. Alongside one of each baked mooncake flavour, the set includes a teapot with two teacups, as well as two packets of Hai Tien Lo No 1 tea leaves, encouraging recipients to pair the tea-infused signature mooncake with the blend that inspired it.
A more understated option comes in the form of the Classic Four Treasures Baked Mooncake Set, which brings together the same quartet of baked mooncakes in the restaurant’s floral keepsake box.
Hai Tien Lo’s Mid-Autumn collection is available for order until September 25, with discounts of up to 25 per cent. Prices range from $95 to $188.
The mooncakes can be collected from Pan Pacific Singapore from August 17, while delivery options are also available for both individual and corporate orders.
