Christmas 2024: The most unique festive treats to get for potluck parties
Forget the classic roast dishes, more hotels and restaurants are getting adventurous with takeaway festive dishes.

The traditional roast turkey and chicken have long been associated with Christmas. However, hotels are rolling out Christmas-themed dishes with an Asian touch. They range from Indian cuisines, such as Butter Turkey with Cranberry Cheese Naan, to Chinese dishes, such as Hong Kong Roast Duck. We highlight some of the unique dishes this Christmas season.
1. Butter Turkey with Cranberry Cheese Naan, Goodwood Park Hotel

Goodwood Park Hotel is one of Singapore’s hotels renowned for its unique dishes during the Christmas season. This year, it promises a spectacular array of Christmas delights to fill hearts with joy and tables with irresistible flavours, making for a truly unforgettable celebration.
This year, Goodwood Park Hotel’s resident Indian chef has come out with the Butter Turkey with Cranberry Cheese Naan, which gives the festive feast an exotic touch, from tender cubes of turkey breast marinated in a fragrant blend of ginger, garlic paste, mustard oil and spices for six hours before being smothered in a butter sauce made from cashews, shallots, and a medley of aromatic herbs.
2. Hong Kong Style Roast Duck, Grand Hyatt Hotel

The highly anticipated Grand Hyatt Hotel has reopened with spectacular offerings for the first festive season, following a multi-year renovation, celebrating the comfort, tradition, and joyous reunions that have come to be synonymous with the hotel hosted by a team of trusted associates.
One of the highlights would be the Hong Kong Style Roast Duck which promises a unique centrepiece for your holiday feast, consisting of a crispy exterior and juicy, aromatic meat complete with ingredients such as cucumber, spring onion, hoisin sauce, and pancake.
3. Roast Turkey Pongteh, Fullerton Hotel

Well known for its Thanksgiving feasts, Christmas dinners, and Festive Afternoon Tea, The Fullerton Hotel will be setting the stage for jolly and grand gatherings.
The culinary team curates a locally inspired turkey flavour yearly to spice up the season. The Roast Turkey Pongteh is a festive take on the beloved Peranakan classic this year.
The slow-roasted turkey is marinated and topped with an umami fermented bean gravy. It is accompanied by fragrant pumpkin rice studded with cranberries, house-made sambal belacan, and belinjau crackers. In addition, a piquant salad of ginger flower, green mango, and pomelo lends a refreshing balance to the dish’s rich flavours.
4. Roasted Norwegian Salmon with Coconut Chilli Seafood Farce, Shangri-La Hotel

With a medley of exquisite feasts, Shangri-La Hotel is set to elevate its celebrations with the magic of Christmas, offering an array of holiday delights and memorable experiences.
New on this year’s menu of savoury treats would be the Roasted Norwegian Salmon with Coconut Chilli Seafood Farce, consisting of a buttery salmon elevated with a fragrant coconut chilli seafood farce, which offers a hint of tropical spice.
In addition, it is paired with golden-roasted curried potatoes, wok-fried garden vegetables, and tangy sweet and sour beets, while caramelised Brussels sprouts, soy-glazed chestnuts, and roasted pumpkin add delightful textures.
Finished with a zesty pineapple-cranberry chutney and a bold tamarind-onion glaze, this dish strikes the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savoury notes for your holiday table.
5. Shio Koji Fried Chicken with Gorgonzola and Tonkatsu Curry Sauce, Pullman Singapore Hill Street

As the essence of luxury in the city’s heart, Pullman Singapore Hill Street is not to be missed for its elegant interiors with boughs of festive holly and exquisite experiences for guests to enjoy with loved ones.
The hotel’s signature-themed Christmas Mega Brunch has also returned this year. It features an extensive selection of buffet dishes created in collaboration with Madison’s and MOGĀ.
The indulgent live stations feature festive favourites like Roasted Turkey and Whole Roasted Barramundi. They also feature a premium Japanese selection, including a piping hot bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen and a wide selection of sashimi and maki.
6. Glazed & Spiced Swordfish Belly, The Singapore Edition

As one of the newer hotels in Singapore, The Singapore Edition is to be noticed for its Stay Packages and Spa Privileges series, which promises unforgettable experiences.
For the festive season, it has curated several festive À La Carte dishes with an Asian touch, such as the Glazed & Spiced Swordfish Belly, served with cod fat roast potatoes and sweet and sour cherries, and the Whole Roasted Quail, complemented by grilled figs, hazelnut, celeriac, and quail sauce.
