XPENG’s best-selling coupe SUV returns with a sharper silhouette, a calmer interior, and an intelligence that feels lived-in rather than experimental. The new XPENG G6, unveiled at The Car Expo 2025, builds on the brand’s momentum with two distinct versions — a new Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance variant and a refined Long-Range model — each representing a quiet confidence in how far electric mobility has come.
At first glance, the refreshed G6 looks sleeker, more deliberate. The fastback silhouette remains, but with a more cohesive flow — a long, uninterrupted front overhang leading into a sculpted tail with a ducktail spoiler and suspended light bar.
The 20-inch “petal-style” alloy wheels add a touch of dynamism, while five space-inspired colours — including the new Stellar Purple — give the car a contemporary edge without shouting for attention.
Inside, the design shifts toward understated luxury. The panoramic glass roof opens up a cabin bathed in ambient light and layered textures. Nappa leather seats now feature massage, heating, and ventilation, while a generous 2,890mm wheelbase creates a sense of ease and openness throughout the space.
Rear passengers aren’t an afterthought either — they can recline, adjust climate zones, and enjoy the same serenity as those in front. It’s a car that feels intentionally designed for comfort without excess.
Luxury meets logic
The technological enhancements underpin rather than dominate. XPENG’s XMART OS, powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, runs seamlessly across a 15.6-inch touchscreen and digital driver display. The 960W XOPERA surround sound system transforms the cabin into a private theatre.
At the same time, the intelligent voice assistant now supports four-zone activation, allowing every passenger a say in their own comfort. Over-the-air updates keep the system evolving — the latest introducing thoughtful touches like Pet Mode, hands-free karaoke, and refined co-pilot driving capabilities.
Performance remains engaging but balanced. The Long-Range RWD model offers up to 525 kilometres on a single charge. At the same time, the Dual-Motor AWD Performance variant delivers all-weather assurance and an impressive 0 to100 kmh time of just over four seconds.
Yet, the focus isn’t on speed alone; it’s on consistency and control. Built on XPENG’s 800V SiC platform, the G6 supports ultra-fast charging — from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in about 12 minutes — and Vehicle-to-Load functionality that can power appliances or outdoor setups up to 6kw.
These are the details that make the car as adaptable as it is advanced.
Safety remains deeply embedded in the car’s DNA. A high-strength hybrid frame anchors its structure, complemented by seven airbags and a network of sensors that continuously read the environment.
XPILOT, XPENG’s driver-assistance suite, offers intelligent cruise control, automated parking, and lane-centring features that make long drives less taxing. It’s not about taking over the wheel — it’s about removing friction from the act of driving.
Refinement over reinvention
Beyond the product itself, XPENG’s ambitions in Singapore and the region are taking shape. Its partnership with Charge+ to establish high-powered charging hubs across Southeast Asia signals a practical understanding of what the EV transition requires: infrastructure, not just innovation.
With the G6, XPENG positions itself not as a challenger brand but as a thoughtful participant in shaping what future driving could look like here.
The facelift, then, is less about newness for its own sake and more about refinement — of how comfort, technology, and design can converge naturally. The G6 doesn’t dazzle through novelty; it persuades through composure.
It’s an electric SUV built for those who value intelligence that works quietly in the background, enhancing every journey without demanding constant attention.
