Singapore Airlines (SIA) has become the only airline globally to serve the renowned Cristal 2015 Champagne by French champagne maker Louis Roederer on its flights. Passengers on the suites and first class flying between Singapore and London, Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New Delhi, Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai, are among the first to sip on this vintage.
The Cristal 2015 champagne is served in SIA’s Airbus A380 Suites and Boeing 777-300ER First Class cabins. Crafted by cellar master Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the Cristal 2015 Champagne is a harmonious marriage of almond, wheat and sweet pollen notes from the Chardonnay along with the juicy red fruit of the pinot noir.
In addition, the bespoke, sustainable viticulture approach of Louis Roederer’s exceptional Grand Cru vineyards, artful blending, and extended cellar ageing gives the wine depth and elegance.

“Cristal 2015 delivers intense and delicious aromas with superb energy and an ethereal vibration. We are delighted that our iconic Cristal champagne has been chosen to be served on Singapore Airlines,” said Mr Frédéric Rouzaud, Chief Executive Officer, Champagne Louis Roederer.
He added that timeless champagne of supreme balance and measure, resonating with the chalkiness of its soils, bursting forth in a bracing, vertical effervescence with an insistent, precise, and finely honed freshness.
The airline also has a world-renowned panel of wine consultants, who bring a wealth of expertise and unique perspective to the wine selection process, thereby selecting Cristal 2015 for its exceptional balance and depth of flavour.
“Our goal is to ensure that the finest wines from the best vintages enhance the travel experience and complement the in-flight cuisine on board Singapore Airlines flights,” said SIA wine consultant Ms Jeannie Cho Lee, who is the first Asian to be awarded the Master of Wine title.
Lee also shared that depth and impressive quality from the meticulous ageing process have resulted in champagne with intricate and intense flavours of toasted pinenuts, crushed stones, and white flowers, which bring out a crescendo of refined tastes and a lingering, persistent finish.
Besides Cristal 2015, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, which is also owned by Louis Roederer, can be enjoyed in Suites and First Class cabins. In addition, these passengers can also look forward to other premium labels that are served on board, such as the 2013 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, 2015 Bollinger Grande Année, 2016 Pol Roger Blanc De Blancs, and the 2007 Blanc des Millenaires by Charles Heidsieck.
