Luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co. is synonymous with the 1961 American romantic comedy film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which starred Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn. Diners in Singapore can now step into one of fashion’s most enduring fantasies when Tiffany & Co opens its Blue Box Cafe in Ion Orchard on July 15.

The cafe, located on the third level of Tiffany & Co’s recently-revamped triplex in the mall, is the brand’s first food and beverage concept in South-east Asia. There are Blue Box Cafes in New York, Hong Kong and Japan, each of them fronted by a well-known chef in the respective countries.

At Singapore’s Blue Box Cafe, the menu is developed in collaboration with Julien Royer, chef-owner of three Michelin-starred contemporary French restaurant Odette and its sister neo-brasserie Claudine. It marks the first time that the renowned French chef is designing a menu for a Singapore-based restaurant.

Instead of recreating a Parisian bistro or an American café, Royer has conceived a menu that bridges American influences with classic French cuisine with a Singaporean lens - something Royer, who has lived in Singapore for over 15 years, is familiar with.

“Tiffany & Co. has always stood for beauty, elegance and the celebration of life’s most meaningful moments,” says Royer. “Through the café, I hope to share that same sense of joy and love for all things beautiful, expressed through elegant French classics with touches of classic American charm, seen through a distinctly Asian lens.”

The signature Breakfast at Tiffany’s experience offers an elevated imagination of the landmark phrase. The breakfast set, presented on a two-tiered silver stand, comprises seasonal fruits, homemade granola, French viennoiseries and baguettes served with Beillevaire butter and fresh jams alongside smoked trout and Royer’s signature Oeuf à la Coque—Japanese Oita eggs topped with Oscietra caviar.

Tea at Tiffany’s, the afternoon tea set, comprises savouries like Croque Madame wrapped in crisp filo pastry, potato millefeuille with caviar and crème fraîche, and wagyu cecina rolls with black truffle, and French pastries with a local touch. They include pandan chouquette and calamansi tartelette.

Highlights from the all-day menu includes Royer’s Confit Yellow Chicken, which reimagines Singapore’s beloved chicken rice with Niigata rice cooked claypot-style until crisp at the base before being finished with chicken skin and an Asian-inspired sake-seaweed beurre blanc sauce Albufera. The Alaskan Spot Prawn “Dumpling” offers a delicate interpretation of ravioli infused with the essence of a prawn noodle broth.

Looking for something more down-to-earth? There’s the Tiffany & Co. burger made with a proprietary Wagyu and Angus beef blend, alongside salt-roasted heirloom beetroots. Conclude the dining experience with desserts like SniX, inspired by two classic American chocolate bars, and the Tiffany Island, a reinterpretation of the traditional French Île Flottante featuring smoky Vanuatu vanilla and orange blossom water.

The expansion of the Blue Box Cafe brand marks a deepening of the New York luxury brand’s lifestyle ambitions. It also joins a slew of food and beverage concepts here opened by international fashion brands. They include the Prada Caffe, also located in Ion Orchard, Coach Restaurant at Jewel Changi Airport and Ralph’s Coffee by Ralph Lauren.
