Despite the countless transformations of Bvlgari’s Tubogas motif and technique through the years, surprising new iterations always await. And this time, the Roman jeweller shines the spotlight on its hallmark yellow gold and the inclusion of its other signature aesthetic codes — so apt for welcoming the Lunar Year of the Wood or Green Snake.
Created in 1948 for the bracelet of its very first Serpenti jewellery-watch, the lithe and supple coils of the Tubogas were inspired by gas pipes of the second industrial revolution. Beyond its pure and eclectic form, Bvlgari pioneered a demanding technique that ensured that the gold strips interlocked without any soldering.

The result — a flexible and seamless bracelet that wraps around the wrist like second skin — was a visionary innovation that cemented its rightful place in the maison’s design language. Reaching its height in the 70s, when bold experimentations with the distinctive style for both watch- and jewellery-making took the world by storm, the Tubogas achieved an iconic status that endures until today.
Still ever so contemporary and elegant, this new jewellery collection spans sleek and wearable pieces accented with diamonds, to creations bearing the emblematic Parentesi and Roman gold coin motifs, to show-stopping chokers and bracelets in a chromatic burst of precious and ornamental gems.
The bracelets come in plain gold, studded with diamond-set pyramids, or as a multi-gold version
Bracelets for daily wear are crafted in plain gold, as a three-gold iteration, or with diamond-set pyramidal studs — all suitable for wearing as individual pieces or stylishly stacked. Another necklace and bracelet set incorporates the circa-70s Parentesi motif, which is inspired by Roman pavements and comes adorned with brilliant diamonds.
The maison’s love of vibrant colours is expressed through precious stones like tanzanites, rubellites, and green tourmalines, which are framed by hard stone inserts and pave diamonds within a peculiar triangular shape.

To achieve this geometric, voluminous setting of the gems on its chokers and bracelets, Bvlgari’s master artisans had to push the limits of their skills to revisit the construction of the Tubogas mesh. And this continuous evolution of the technique just goes to show why it has never gone out of fashion since it was born 77 years ago.
